Prepping for the website

Starting a small business isn’t just about me, but about everybody who has participated in some form or fashion. I want to talk about some of the professionals I worked with in the very beginning to help the pieces come together for the website.

Ashan Jay-Website/Blog design & development

Have I told you guys that I love my website!?! My website guy, Ashan, did a great job giving me a clean, user-friendly, and pretty website.  He was able to create what I wanted with simply a verbal description. With only a few minor changes to the original layout, he had it nailed. Hashing out little details like tweaking font colors here and centering lettering there etc. took up most of the time (because I can be very precise it took a while) but he hung in there .  I’m sure at times I was a pain but hopefully he’s happy with his work because I certainly am.

 Jessica Warrix-Hair for my headshots

During the creation of the site I went back and forth with doing an about page; I finally decided to go for it and Jessica was gracious enough to give me a simple hairstyle that would look natural and remain somewhat done outside on a rainy humid day. Did I mention that she’s the owner of her own salon and she took time on her off day to do my hair for me…gracious.

Anne Buskirk-headshots & main page photos

I met Anne when I worked for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana, she’s a Big Sister. I needed some images for the site and although I hadn’t worked with her in the photography realm I’d worked with her in the human services realm and knew she was one of those stand-up gals so she was the first person I thought of when I was thinking of doing some initial shots.  She is honorable & genuine and is the type to shoot in the rain if she has bronchitis just because she had you on the calendar.

 Kelly Oswalt-makeup for my headshots

Umm, ya-she totally made me look as if I had no make-up on; it was like magic, a magical skill that takes a lot of time and effort on her part but you end up with beautiful results. I normally only wear about 3 items of makeup so getting a full face put on was quite fun.
