Lauren and Cole’s Retro Wedding at The Wilds

Lauren and Cole did not need a muted palette to make The Wilds feel like their own. They chose a 70s-inspired wedding full of orange, yellow, warm wood, and personal details, then carried those colors through the entire celebration.

The room at The Wilds near Bloomington, Indiana is bright and open. Instead of trying to cover that up, their team let the color do the work. Amber glass, yellow napkins, orange flowers, and wood tables gave the reception a warm, playful feel without making the room feel busy.

A Table That Set the Tone

The guest tables were a simple but effective mix: visible wood, bright florals, and Amber Goblets at every place setting. The goblets repeated the warm color story across the room, while the plates, napkins, and small floral moments kept each seat feeling personal.

It is a good reminder that a table does not need ten competing details. One colored glassware choice can carry a lot of the personality.

A Sweetheart Table That Felt Like Them

Lauren and Cole’s sweetheart table was surrounded by flowers but still let the furniture show. The two Clement Chairs brought in the rich orange color that tied the mantle, florals, and reception tables together. The result felt celebratory and specific to them, not like a generic wedding setup.

The best sweetheart tables do not need to be overbuilt. Start with seating that has personality, keep the table visible, and let the flowers frame the couple instead of hiding the whole setting.

A Lounge With a Little More Color

For the lounge, the Theo Sofa gave guests a comfortable place to gather, while the Amura Retro Chairs added a bright yellow counterpoint. A low Carlton Coffee Table kept the setup useful for drinks and conversation.

The pieces have different shapes and colors, but they belong together because they repeat the same warm, retro feeling already present at the tables and sweetheart setting.
